Kwara State Gov’t Hails Kiddies League Initiative

Kwara State Government through the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, has lauded the idea of the Kwara Kiddies YEG league.

Mallam Mogaji, who was the special guest of honour at the end of the season and award ceremony of the league last weekend noted that the Kwara Kiddies League holds a special place in the scheme of youth development in the state.

While commending the organisers for managing and running the league professionally, he urged them to continue to uphold the standard.

“This is league is a wonderful initiative that’s really helping us discover a lot of talented footballers, and we will continue to support you on this journey,” he said.

He reiterated the commitment of the state government under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in sports development and noted that the government will continue to provide an enabling environment for initiatives to thrive.

Mogaji, who is also the patron of the league, was presented with an award of excellence for his contributions to the success of this year’s edition, which was won by Kwara Football Academy.

The Kwara Kiddies League is the biggest kids football league in Nigeria, with over 600 kids playing active and competitive football.

The league, which had its inaugural edition in 2022, has continued to grow in leaps and bounds. The fourth season expected to begin in May 2025.
