GAA Akanbi Coach Cites Positives Despite Winless Run
Coach Bashir Abolarinwa of GAA Akanbi Kiddies found silver linings in his team’s performances despite a winless start to their 2024 Kwara Kiddies League campaign.
Following a goalless draw against Honey King Football Academy over the weekend, Coach Bashir highlighted the efforts and achievements of his players amidst the pressures of their league debut.
GAA Akanbi, one of the new entrants to the 2024 league, is experiencing its first season in the Kwara Kiddies League, which began in 2022.
Coach Bashir noted the team’s adjustment period, recognizing the challenges his players face as they acclimate to the competition.
“We have played two straight draws, earning us two points in the ongoing league. We are new to the league, and my lads are just feeling the heat of the competition,” Coach Bashir stated. “But we have fared well because our keeper was the Player of the Match in week one, and our player won the Player of the Match award in week two.”
Despite the winless run, Coach Bashir remains optimistic about the team’s progress and is eager to see how his players will perform against some of the league’s top teams.
“We look forward to how the lads will react against the big boys of the league when we meet teams like KFA, La Planet, Makamz, Surprise, and so on,” he added.
