Achievers Football Academy’s head coach, Abdulwahab Muyhideen, expressed disappointment over missed opportunities following their 3-0 loss to Koller Football Academy in the recent Ilorin West Derby.

Koller Football Academy clinched their first victory of the season in a commanding second-half performance that left Achievers reeling.

The match, which saw a goalless first half, shifted dramatically after the break as Koller capitalized on defensive lapses to secure three goals, much to the dismay of the home crowd at a packed stadium.

Coach Muyhideen acknowledged the challenges faced during the game but emphasized the importance of moving forward.

“It’s a tough loss, but we can’t dwell on it,” Coach Muyhideen remarked in a post-match interview. We have to move on and focus on the next game.”

Despite the setback, Coach Muyhideen expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to bounce back, highlighting the need to convert scoring opportunities into goals, especially from set pieces.

“We had our chances, but we couldn’t convert them, especially on set pieces. We need to be more clinical in front of goal,” he lamented. “I strongly believe in my players, we’ll learn from this and do better in the next game.”

Looking ahead, Achievers Football Academy aims to learn from this defeat and improve their performance against Future Stars on July 6, 2024.
